I feel privileged to have made it to the final three in the Emerging Business category, at the Sligo Business Awards in the Radisson Blu Hotel Sligo last evening.

The Sligo Champion and Sligo Leader,Partnership put on a fantastic event, which was attended by over four hundred people. The Radisson blu hotel served a beautiful meal while we all chatted and networked. Master of ceremonies Lorraine O’Donnell (GM the Sligo Champion) kept us all engaged as she announced all of the shortlisted finalists in each category and each perspective category winner.

The very successful, Terry Prone (Carr Communications) was guest speaker. She delivered an entertaining speech on communication, a topic she has huge expertise in due to over 50 years in the media and communications industry. She encourages females to be unapologetic for having successful careers and to loose the guilt, as she says “children are very adaptable”.

The common theme running through the evening was the importance of networking with other businesses and helping each other in any way we can., this was reiterated by Chris Gonley (CEO Sligo Leader partnership). Marketing ourselves through all of the various channels whether in print media, social media or TV and radio, is essential to our survival. Having clarity on what message we want to portray and who we want to deliver that to is key to success.

I would like to congratulate all the finalists and winners . Sincere thanks to the Sligo Champion, Leader and each of the sponsors for a great event. I look forward to the possibility of attending again next year.
